I'm Patricia Aylward

Knowledge is power. The power to change yourself for the better, in oral health as well as overall health. Knowledge, can help make your healthy smile a reality.

I have 42 Years of Experience in the Dental Field

One month after graduating at Hanson High School in Alexandria, SD, I attended the Dental Assisting Program at Lake Area Vocational-Technical Institute (LAVTI) in Huron. After my 11-month program finished, I took  and passed the Dental Assisting National Board (DANB) and became a Certified Dental Assistant (CDA). I practiced in general dentistry and oral surgery as a CDA in several offices in South Dakota, Colorado and Saudi Arabia. In 1988, I decided to return to school, studying at the University of South Dakota Dental Hygiene Department and earned a AA degree. Thereafter, I passes my board to become a Registered Dental Hygienist (RDH), subsequently working in South Dakota and Saudi Arabia. Currently, I am working as an RDH and running Toothology, Inc. in Mitchell, South Dakota.

A New Paradigm

After working with people and their teeth for many years, I have come to realize that if we in the dental profession are going to stop the most common disease in the world - tooth decay (yes, it is considered a disease) - we must do something different. This is a necessity because this wholly preventable disease is still occurring at an alarming rate.

Enter Tootholgy, Inc. a nonprofit. I believe oral health can be improved through better and more comprehensive education. If you, your, family, business, or organization would like me to speak to you about oral health, please email me. I will contact you promptly to find out what topic most interests you or is most relevant, and set a convenient date.
